Boxer Wayne McCullough to fight on despite cancelled bout
Irish boxer Wayne McCullough says he fully intends to carry on boxing despite the cancellation of his scheduled comeback bout against Kiko Martinez.
Spanish fighter Kiko Martinez was unable to make the weight limit and so the meeting with Wayne McCullough had to be pulled.
Wayne McCullough, who is nicknamed Pocket Rocket, is reported to have said: "The first thing you say is that it's put you off but I love to fight. I just hope something good comes out of this.
"I'm gutted, totally gutted. It's the third fight that's fallen through in the last year."
Wayne McCullough had been away from the ring for two-and-a-half years and had really wanted to make his return. However, he thought it might not happen and added: "I told my wife six weeks ago I had a feeling the guy didn't want to fight me."
