Boxer Wayne McCullough might return to the ring
Irish boxer Wayne McCullough, who is a former world bantamweight champion could make a comeback to fighting and he has announced that rumours about him retiring were premature.
37-year-old McCullough from Belfast had started the reports after he faced Juan Ruiz in the Cayman Islands on 20 June and had said: "I think this is my last fight."
However, Wayne McCullough explained: "One of my problems is that I wear my heart on my sleeve and tend to say what's on my mind. Sometimes that gets me in trouble. And that's what happened following my withdrawal from a fight that I was winning against Juan Ruiz."
McCullough further added: "After the bout I was being very hard on myself. I want to let you all know that the Pocket Rocket could be back in the ring soon."
McCullough, at that time hadn't fought for three years, and after six rounds he had said he couldn't carry on, but now it seems he will be making a return to the ring after all.
