Boxer Wayne Elcock to face "King" Arthur Abraham
UK boxer Wayne Elcock will challenge German-based fighter Arthur Abraham who will defend his world IBF middleweight title on 8 December in Basle, Switzerland.
Arthur Abraham, who was born in Armenia but who lives in Germany and who is nicknamed King Arthur, had been successful in defending his title for the sixth fight in a row against fellow Armenian Khoren Gevor in August.
Birmingham-based Wayne Elcock had improved his status in boxing with his 18th professional victory a unanimous points triumph against Howard Eastman in September to win the British middleweight title.
And Arthur Abraham is well aware that he has a worthy opponent and said: "It will be a hard fight against a strong opponent."
Arthur Abraham added: "Elcock last defeated a strong Howard Eastman so there is absolutely no reason to underestimate him."
Arthur Abraham's promotional team have suggested that his next fight could be staged in the US.
