Boxer Ricky Hatton to return to welterweight
Boxer Ricky Hatton says he plans to return to the welterweight division in order to make sure that the bout with Floyd Mayweather takes place.
Ricky Hatton's trainer Billy Graham said Ricky Hatton would have no problem about moving up from his natural light welterweight division, and he said: "I don't think anyone can touch him at his natural weight, but I've got no problems moving up."
The welterweight division of boxing requires boxers to weigh in between 141 and 147 lbs, while the light welterweight classification is 136 to 140 lbs.
Ricky Hatton has fought in the welterweight division many times in the past, but his last two fights have both been at the lighter weight.
Floyd Mayweather has also been in the ring at different weights, and he stepped up to light middleweight for his most recent fight against Oscar de la Hoya.
Ricky Hatton has said that going against Floyd Mayweather would be the highlight of his impressive career and this is why he will take this step to make sure he gets a chance to fight him.
