Boxer Ricky Hatton to face Juan Lazcano in Manchester
British boxer Ricky Hatton will be fighting again in his home city of Manchester on 24 May when he will be defending his IBO light-welterweight title when he faces Mexico's Juan Lazcano.
Ricky Hatton, 29, will be dropping down from welterweight for this bout, which is being staged at the City of Manchester Stadium, and in his return to the ring he will be aiming to make up for his last fight when Floyd Mayweather beat him.
Juan Lazcano has still has to sign the contract to confirm the fight, although arrangements with the stadium and promoters have been agreed upon.
Ricky Hatton's representatives wanted to announce the fight a bit early because it is going to be in Manchester City and Ricky Hatton explained it this way: "It is a homecoming fight and it's an absolute dream come true to be fighting back in Manchester."
