Boxer Ricky Hatton to be trained by Floyd Mayweather Sr
British boxer Ricky Hatton has announced that Floyd Mayweather Sr will be his trainer for his next fight, which is against Paulie Malignaggi in Las Vegas on 22 November.
Floyd Mayweather Jr defeated Hatton in 2007 and is the only fighter to have done so, but now his father will be in charge of training his past opponent. 55-year-old Mayweather Sr is travelling to Manchester later in September.
Mayweather Sr does not agree with his son on many matters and Mayweather Jr has been working with his uncle Roger for most of his boxing career.
Lee Beard, who has been an important part of Hatton camp for over a year, will be assisting Mayweather Sr.
Billy Graham, who had trained Hatton for 11 years, retired on 1 August, maintaining that he had been sacked.
In the past, Mayweather Sr has also trained famous fighters including Oscar de la Hoya, Joan Guzman and Chad Dawson.
