Boxer Ricky Hatton promises exciting Jose Luis Castillo fight
Manchester boxer Ricky Hatton has promised an exciting fight when he faces Jose Luis Castillo in Las Vegas on 23 June and he said he was just as excited about the Jose Luis Castillo fight as he was for his encounter with Kostya Tszyu in 2005.
Ricky Hatton, 28, is reported to have said: "It can't be anything other than a fantastic fight, it could be quite frightening."
Ricky Hatton went on to add: "Castillo, unlike Tszyu, doesn't give ground and fights on the front foot. He's going to stand toe-to-toe."
Ricky Hatton admitted that perhaps he wasn't focused enough for his two fights, both of which were world title wins and he said: "Maybe at the back of my mind I took my foot off the gas and my performances were below par."
As a fighter in control of the ring Ricky Hatton hadn't been convincing, although he reclaimed the IBF light welterweight belt from Juan Urango in January and he was considered lucky to have won the IBF welterweight crown from Luis Collazo last May.
