Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto defeated Zab Judah in the 11th round with a knockout to defend his WBA welterweight title in New York's Madison Square Garden.
New York's Zab Judah never really made a recovery from a cut to his eye and two low blows early on in the fight.
Miguel Cotto, was hurt in the fight too with a cut inside the mouth and blood running down his chest, although his injuries didn't stop him getting control of the bout after the third round. Miguel Cotto actually had Zab Judah down on one knee in the ninth round.
Then in round 11, Miguel Cotto floored Zab Judah with a left hook., and although he stood up the fight was stopped just moments later.
Afterwards Miguel Cotto is reported to have said: "I expected a tough fight and that's exactly what I got."
Zab Judah wasn't happy with the result and said: "He hit me hard twice and the referee didn't do anything about it," and he added: "I thought they were intentional. Those low blows took a lot out of me. I want a rematch."
