Boxer Evander Holyfield beats Lou Savarese in Texas

evander Four-time world heavyweight champion boxer Evander Holyfield defeated Lou Savarese in El Paso, Texas on Saturday with a 10-round unanimous decision against his rival.

Evander Holyfield, 44, floored Lou Savarese in the fourth round with a right to the body and nearly beat him at the end of the ninth with a powerful left hook.

Lou Savarese, who is three years younger that Evander Holyfield, was left reeling in the 10th round but hung on until the end.

After the fight, Evander Holyfield made a vow that he will not retire until he has won a fifth world crown.

"Age is just a number," Evander Holyfield said and added, "I will not quit until I am a five-times world champion."

And talking about his opponent Lou Savarese he said: "Lou is a veteran and a very difficult fighter,"

"He was hitting me with uppercuts, and hurt me with a few of them."
