Boxer Esham Pickering wants a rematch with Michael Hunter
Esham Pickering has vowed to bounce back into world contention
following his recent defeat to Michael Hunter in Hartlepool last month.
Esham Pickering, 29, lost his European and Commonwealth titles to
British champion Michael Hunter on a tight majority decision.
The Newark boxer said: "I am still very positive about the future. If anything I am hungrier now than ever.
"I would like a title fight early next year, then Hunter again, before going on to fight for a world title."
Esham Pickering will next be boxing on the Carl Froch-Ruben Groenewald
undercard at the Nottingham Arena on 2 December but he feels he is just
marking time before a rematch with Michael Hunter, who he feels he
really beat last time out.
Esham Pickering added: "Instead of fighting Hunter in his backyard I could have taken a different route.
"I could have left him to fight somebody he would have earned less
against and got myself a world title eliminator. But I gave him his
chance. Hopefully he will give me mine."
"I know I can box better. I don't think he can, he boxed out of his skin. But then I still thought I won."
