Boxer Enzo Maccarinelli close to Steve Cunningham fight
Welsh boxer Enzo Maccarinelli is very close to confirming a unification title fight against IBF champion Steve Cunningham and negotiations are underway on staging the bout on the Joe Calzaghe-Mikkel Kessler bill in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on 3 November.
Enzo Maccarinelli, 26, said: "The deal is nearly done."
Enzo Maccarinelli added: "Cunningham has said he'll come over here to fight so let's get it on.
"But I don't mind who I fight next. I'll beat anyone in front of me."
Enzo Maccarinelli has just defended his WBO cruiserweight title for the third time when he won with an unanimous points triumph over former WBC champion Wayne Braithwaite.
An injured right hand in the third round caused Enzo Maccarinelli problems, but he still managed to defeat Wayne Braithwaite.
Enzo Maccarinelli says he plans to buy a new car to celebrate his win against Wayne Braithwaite before he takes on Philadelphian boxer Steve Cunningham.
