Boxer David Haye the Hayemaker beats Jean-Marc Mormeck
London boxer David Haye won the WBA and WBC cruiserweight titles with a very impressive seventh-round knockout win against Jean-Marc Mormeck from France.
David Haye, 27, who is also known as the Hayemaker, used a combination of blows with a right upper cut, a left, then a right hook to knock Jean-Marc Mormeck on to the canvas at the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan, near Paris.
This knockout victory was even more surprising because David Haye had been floored by his opponent in the fourth round when Jean-Marc Mormeck failed to take advantage of the situation to finish his opponent off and David Haye was able to recover and come back fighting hard.
Winning this fight makes David Haye the sixth world champion from the UK, and he joins the ranks of Joe Calzaghe, Enzo Maccarinelli, Clinton Woods, Junior Witter and Gavin Rees.
David Haye said: "To be honest I am one of three undisputed world champions - Calzaghe, Hatton and now me."
