Boxer David Haye looks forward to facing Belgian Ismail Abdoul in Altrincham
European cruiserweight champion David Haye is looking forward to his forthcoming fight against Belgian boxer Ismail Abdoul in Altrincham.
David Haye, from Bermondsey, has been installed as the WBC's number one contender, and a victory on Friday could see him up against undisputed world champion O'Neill Bell.
David Haye, 27, said: "That has put it on the line and given me that extra little spark to go out and put on a good performance.
"I can't afford any slip-ups, but the more pressure, the sharper I'll be."
An impressive win could make the difference between David Haye facing O'Neill Bell as a mandatory challenger or first having to fight an eliminator bout.
Ismail Abdoul's record (27-9-1) suggests he will provide a difficult test of David Haye's credentials and a very worthy opponent having only been stopped once in 37 attempts, and even that came in the 12th round of a fight he was shading on points.
David Haye said: "His record shows that he is very durable and it all depends on what he comes out to do."
