Boxer Clinton Woods needs surgery to a tendon
Boxer Clinton Woods needs an operation to repair a torn tendon in his arm and he will be out of action for the rest of this year at least.
IBF light heavyweight champion Clinton Woods sustained the damage to the tendon last September and it had caused him problems in his recent victory against Glen Johnson.
Clinton Woods, 34, explained: "They need to cut out a piece of muscle in my left forearm, just below the elbow, which has been giving me a lot of pain over the last year,"
"I just want it done now so I don't have to worry about it."
Even though he had the tendon injury hampering him during his title defence against Glen Johnson in Bolton, Clinton Woods still won the bout after a split decision.
And Clinton Woods is confident the surgery will not spoil his chances his career. In fact, Clinton Woods wants to take on veteran boxer Roy Jones to get his revenge on the American fighter for beating him back in 2002.
