Boxer Carl Froch annoyed by promoter Frank Maloney's comments
Boxer Carl Froch has been angered by comments made by promoter Frank Maloney ahead of his British and Commonwealth title defence against Belfast's Brian Magee in Bethnal Green on Friday.
Southpaw Carl Froch was annoyed by Frank Maloney's suggestion that Magee could have beaten some of the super middleweight's previous opponents.
"Maloney and (Magee's manager) Pat Magee started the trash talk and I'll finish it at the weekend," said Carl Froch.
"I'll just have to wait until Friday to give all three both barrels!"
In the meantime, Frank Maloney is confident Brian Magee will bring an end to Carl Froch's unbeaten record.
"Let's face it, Froch has never been tested," Frank Maloney said. "He's fought a load of handpicked opponents and his last opponent Ruben Groenwald was only a light middleweight and he gave him trouble.
"I think he's in for a shock. He's going to be in with a guy who'll be hitting him back. It's a whole new ball game for him."
But Carl Froch has had 14 knockouts in 18 fights and is aiming for a European title fight later this year.
