Boxer Audley Harrison beats Jason Barnett
British boxer Audley Harrison staged his heavyweight comeback in Las Vegas with a fifth round win against American journeyman Jason Barnett. However, although he won it was a far from exciting or convincing fight.
It was Audley Harrison's first time in the ring since he was knocked out by Michael Sprott last February, and he looked unsure of himself, although a weight advantage of two stones probably gave him the win he wanted.
The fight was stopped after a minute and 48 seconds of the round when Jason Barnett went down after a body blow.
Nevertheless, although it wasn't the best of performances, Audley Harrison was still happy to have won and he said: "I felt a little rusty, but I'm happy with my jab. When my corner told me to start going downstairs that's when I broke him down. He was a live opponent and after 18 months I'm just happy to be back."
