Boxer Amir Khan pleads not guilty to dangerous driving
Teenage boxer Amir Khan has pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving with regard to an accident in his hometown of Bolton for which he had been arrested by Greater Manchester Police.
19-year-old Olympic silver medallist Amir Khan appeared before Bolton magistrates on Thursday.
The charge refers to an incident in March on Bradshawgate in the town centre when a man suffered a broken leg when a car hit him.
Magistrates transferred the case to Bolton Crown Court for a hearing on 21 September and Amir Khan, who lives in Lostock, Bolton, was given unconditional bail.
Amir Khan became famous when he won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics and following the Athens games, he is reported to have signed a £1m contract to turn professional. Amir Khan has yet to be beaten in the ring as a professional fighter.
