Bolton boxer Amir Khan knows Gairy St Clair is a top fighter
Bolton boxer Amir Khan knows that when he defends his Commonwealth lightweight crown against Gairy St Clair in London on Saturday he is going to be in for his most difficult fight yet.
Past IBF super-featherweight champion Gairy St Clair, 32, has not once been stopped or floored in a long 46-fight career.
Amir Khan, 21, knowing it could be a long fight, said: "He's tough, he's strong, he's durable, he's the best I've fought so far. I've trained for the 12 rounds and if it goes the distance, so be it."
Gairy St Clair, who is replacement boxer for Martin Kristjansen who pulled out due to injury, could be the fighter to take advantage of any weakness or lack of focus Amir Khan may display.
However, Amir Khan feels he is at his best right now and will, nevertheless, beat Gairy St Clair.
