Bolton boxer Amir Khan's next fight is in Nottingham
Bolton boxer Amir Khan is set to have his next fight at the Nottingham Arena on 6 October, but his opponent hasn't been confirmed yet, and its not clear whether Amir Khan's Commonwealth lightweight title will be contested.
Amir Khan, 20, won the title when Willie Limond was forced to retire due to injuries after eight difficult rounds at the O2 Arena in London.
Amir Khan said: "I've always said I want to be a young world champion. In a year I'll be stronger and better."
But his promoter Frank Warren says that Amir Khan is still a long way off being ready for a world title.
Amir Khan's next fight will be in the religious festival of Ramadan, which demands Muslims fast during daylight hours for 30 days.
As a Muslim, Amir Khan must observe the fast for three weeks of training before meeting his next opponent on 6 October, but he expects to have completed the tougher work before Ramadan starts on 13 September.
