Bolton boxer Amir Khan's next fight announced
Bolton boxer Amir Khan has revealed that his next fight will be on 21 June at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham and it will mark his debut in the city.
21-year-old Khan has just defeated Martin Kristjansen in a WBO world lightweight title eliminator earlier on this month, and now his forthcoming match will be his first professional bout in Birmingham.
Amir Khan said: "I've boxed in most of the major cities in Britain and I'm excited that my next fight will be in Birmingham. I get fan mail from all around the country but the majority I receive are from Birmingham and the question is always the same: 'when are you going to fight here?'
Khan's impressive defeat of Kristjansen, who had never been stopped before, was his 17th victory since becoming a professional boxer and it seems likely that he will compete for a world title later this year.
