Belfast boxer Eamonn Magee is ready for Takaloo
Belfast boxer Eamonn Magee has sworn to give a performance that justifies the top-of-the-bill status that he has at Saturday's bout with Takaloo in Belfast.
Troubled fighter Scott Harrison had to pull out of the bill earlier this week but Eamonn Magee's WBU welterweight title defence had already made sure of good ticket sales.
"My fights are always going to be explosive," said Eamonn Magee.
In March, Eamonn Magee warned Margate-based Takaloo he was "putting his life in danger" by agreeing to the fight.
Takaloo, from Iran, decided to move down from light middleweight following defeats by Eugenio Montero and Wayne Alexander two years ago.
Eamonn Magee has lessened the tone of his comments this week ahead of the King's Hall fight but he insists that the WBU belt will be staying in Belfast.
"I'm going out for a stoppage but I also know that I have the skills to outbox him if needs be.
"I have trained hard and prepared properly for this fight because he's strong," Eamonn Magee said.
