Amir Khan will learn from Scott Harrison and Naseem Hamed's mistakes

amirkhan Bolton boxer Amir Khan has promised to learn from the mistakes of troubled boxers Scott Harrison and Naseem Hamed ahead of his latest fight coming up in Belfast on Saturday.

Scott Harrison is currently being treated for alcohol problems and depression and Naseem Hamed has just been imprisoned for dangerous driving.

Nineteen-year-old Amir Khan said: "It has opened my eyes that these things can happen. I will never let them happen to me."

The Olympic silver medallist now faces Hungarian Laszlo Komjathi on the bill that Scott Harrison was to have been top of.

He had been due to defend his WBO title against Gairy St Claire but withdrew because of his problems.

Amir Khan said: "I have spoken to Nas and Scott before and they are nice guys.

"It is a shame it has to happen, and it is a shame Scott has pulled out of his fight.

"But we have to be careful because the limelight is always on us when we are boxing and not boxing."
