Amir Khan's ninth professional fight is against English boxer Ryan Barrett at Bolton Arena
Boxer Amir Khan's ninth professional fight will be against English southpaw fighter Ryan Barrett at the Bolton Arena on 2 September.
Amir Khan, 19, claimed a second-round win over Colin Bain in his last fight at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, however, Ryan Barrett, 23, swears he has a major surprise in store that will break his rival's unbeaten pro record.
"Khan is in for the worst night of his life. The odds are stacked against me but I'll definitely win," said Ryan Barrett, who has 12 wins, two losses and a draw.
"This is the opportunity that I have been waiting for all of my career and now I've got the chance to step up and show just what I can do.
"If people think I'm going to Bolton to be just a test for Khan then they are very wrong and are in for a shock. I'm not there make him look good in front of the TV viewers and his fans," Ryan Barrett added.
Amir Khan has other ideas about the fight and said: "I'm really looking forward to this fight and the Bolton public are desperate to see me back in action so there's no way I'm going to let them down against Barrett.
"All my opponents know that if they beat me then they've hit the jackpot, so I'm not surprised that Barrett is saying what he's saying."
