American Lamon Brewster defends heavyweight crown against Sergei Lyakhovich
American boxer Lamon Brewster will defend his WBO heavyweight crown against Belarussian Sergei Lyakhovich on Saturday.
Lamon Brewster is confident of gaining a fourth successful defence in Cleveland and said: "This is the best shape I've been in my professional career."
Lamon Brewster, who beat Vladimir Klitschko to win the title in 2004, is 33-2 with 29 KOs, while Sergei Lyakhovich is 22-1-14.
They were scheduled to fight last September, but Sergei Lyakhovich withdrew due to a chest injury sustained whilst training.
Lamon Brewster, 32, said: "I think he is a good fighter but this fight is more about me going out and continuing to show that I'm the best fighter in the world."
Lamon Brewster's confidence is partially because of the fact that he has been working with veteran trainer Buddy McGirt, who tutored Arturo Gatti and Antonio Tarver.
"I have been reborn," said Lamon Brewster. "Working with Buddy McGirt has been a fulfilled dream of mine - I think he's the best trainer alive."
