Welsh athlete Tim Benjamin reaches semis in Japan
Welsh athlete Tim Benjamin, who hails from Cardiff, called upon his past form to get through to the 400m semi-finals at the World Championships in Osaka, Japan.
Tim Benjamin, 25, who has recovered from an ankle injury, confirmed his chance in Wednesday's semi-finals with a time of 45.44 seconds.
Tim Benjamin said: "It's not my goal achieved," and he added: "If I can go under 45 seconds and get into the final, that's great."
Tim Benjamin's preparations for the World Championships was hindered by an ankle injury and his training alos wasn't the best due to his split from coach Colin Jackson last month, and Tim Benjamin only managed his place in the team for Japan after running 45.38 at the London Grand Prix.
Tim Benjamin said: "I am pleased to have done that from lane one,"
"I have had a poor preparation. I made some coaching decisions that just didn't work out and also because of injury so hopefully I can put that behind me."
