UK sprinter Dwain Chambers knew he did wrong
UK sprinter Dwain Chambers has admitted that he knew he was doing wrong when he took part in sport after using drugs, and he always had the worry that one day he would get caught.
30-year-old Chambers, who served a two-year ban for having used the steroid THG in 2003, has been banned from taking part in any future Olympic Games.
He was a guest on British television on ITV's This Morning and he admitted: "I was very scared every time I raced. Doing wrong always catches up with you.
"The fact I went out and succeeded for my country was a proud moment, but I knew there was a dark cloud behind me."
Dwain Chambers also said that he realised that using drugs had been a selfish thing to do and that in having done this he had prevented more deserving runners from taking part.
Chambers explained: "I've taken opportunities out of people's pockets and I've made their life very difficult."
