UK runner Mo Farah to have blood tests after collapsing

mo farahUK runner Mo Farah is having blood tests after he needed medical treatment at the end of a race. It was the second time he had been ill like this in a month.

26-year-old Farah had collapsed after he came in as runner-up at the European Cross Country Championships in Dublin in December, and then had to be treated by the medical team after he finished at the Great Edinburgh International Cross Country on Saturday.

Farah had to be taken off on a stretcher after he collapsed and Spaniard Alemayehu Bezabeh won the race in Ireland last month.

This weekend, Farah started well but he finished third behind Ricky Stevenson and Steve Vernon, and again needed treatment because he had been taken ill.

Farah is due to fly out to a high-altitude camp in Kenya on Tuesday but he is having blood tests first to see if what is the matter with him can be found out.
