UK runner Christine Ohuruogu recovers from recent illness

christine uhuruoguBritish runner Christine Ohuruogu has recovered from a recent bout of illness and is back getting ready to defend her world title.

Ohuruogu was forced to withdraw from a race in Italy last week because of a sore throat, but she will be competing in Norway on Friday and then in the UK trials in Birmingham next week.

25-year-old Ohuruogu is first taking part in the Bislet Games in Oslo where she will be running against Sanya Richards from America, who had been her main rival for the world gold medal in Berlin in August.

Richards, who claimed the Olympic bronze behind Ohuruogu in the Beijing Games last year, was also the winner of the first event of the six Golden League meetings in Berlin two weeks back.

Ohuruogu is feeling fit again and aiming to do her best at the World Championships.
