Sweden's Susanna Kallur wins 100m hurdle gold at European Championships
Sweden's Susanna Kallur won the 100m hurdle gold at the European Championships held in her home country.
Irish athlete Derval O'Rourke and German Kirsten Bolm claimed joint silver medals after crossing the finish line in 12.72.
However, the home fans did not have it all their own way because Belgian Tia Hellebaut shocked the Swedish world number one Kajsa Bergqvist by winning the high jump crown.
Tia Hellebaut cleared 2.03m on her first attempt to win in front of Bulgarian Venelina Veneva with Kajsa Bergqvist in third position.
Susanna Kallur was proud of her success after adding the outdoor crown to her European indoor title and she said: "It is just amazing to do this well in Gothenburg.
"I admit I was very nervous before the final, but when I heard the crowd shouting, 'Kallur! Kallur!' it made me calm."
