Runner Christine Ohuruogu shocked by losing her appeal
400m runner Christine Ohuruogu is reported as "stunned" by the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) that has rejected her appeal against a 12-month doping ban.
Christine Ohuruogu, 22, was banned because she missed three drugs tests and although the CAS agreed she hadn't cheated and blamed her forgetfulness it still enforced the suspension.
"I am totally stunned by the decision," said Christine Ohuruogu, who now is unable to take part in sport until 6 August this year because of this.
Christine Ohuruogu added: "I pray other honest athletes do not end up in this devastating position."
The CAS ruling now means that Christine Ohuruogu could also face being banned from future selections for the Olympic Games.
The British Olympic Association can hand out a ban for life for any athletes found guilty of doping offences so Christine Ohuruogu will have to decide whether to lodge an appeal with them as well.
