Paula Radcliffe is back in time for Great North Run
British long-distance and marathon runner Paula Radcliffe is happy to be back in time to take part in Sunday's Great North Run, although she admits she is not sure how well she will do after her break away from running.
Paula Radcliffe, 33, has not been active in sport in all of 21 months after the birth of her daughter Isla in January and also because of a back injury.
Paula Radcliffe explained: "I know from training that I am in decent shape but you need to know how that translates into racing,"
Paula Radcliffe added: "It's about getting the racing gloves on, discovering those old instincts again and blowing out the cobwebs."
The Great North Run will be the first step for Paula Radcliffe's return to athletics as she makes preparations for next year's Beijing Olympic Games.
Paula Radcliffe also said: "There has been a lot of frustration that has now translated into relief at finally getting back racing."
