Over eighteen thousand runners in Great South Run
18,500 runners decided to participate in the Great South Run even though weather conditions were very bad due to heavy rainfall.
The Great South Run, with a course running for 10 miles, started in Southsea in intervals, between 1025 GMT and 1055 GMT, and then finished at the Pyramids.
Kenyan athletes Luke Kibet and Rose Cheruiyot were victorious in the men's and women's races, and Tushar Patel and Anne Wafula-Strike were the winners of the men's and women's wheelchair races.
Portsmouth Football Club owner Sasha Gaydamak and chief executive Peter Storrie also took part as participants in the Great South Run.
Liz Yelling, Mara Yamauchi and Tracey Morris, all from the UK, failed to keep the women's title for Britain following defending champion Jo Pavey getting injured.
Because of the race very many roads were closed until late on Sunday afternoon.
