Marion Jones looks certain for IAAF World Cup in Athens
Sprinter Marion Jones looks certain to the action by racing for America at the IAAF World Cup in Athens next weekend, after she was cleared of doping allegations last week when her 'B' sample for the banned drug erythropoietin (EPO) proved negative.
"We have Marion on our roster to race over 100m and we are planning that she will be in the side," said USA team manager Sandy Snow.
Marion Jones, 30, hasn't accepted the invitation yet but looks very likely to be taking part in Greece.
Marion Jones' initial sample at the USA Track and Field Championships in mid-June had tested positive for the blood-boosting drug EPO, however, her victory there automatically qualified her selection for the World Cup.
Marion Jones has three of the five fastest times in the world so far this year with a best of 10.91 seconds to rank second place overall behind Jamaica's Sherone Simpson.
