Justin Gatlin's masseur denies doping allegations
Justin Gatlin's masseur Chris Whetstine has denied allegations that he doped the world and Olympic 100m champion with a doctored cream.
Sprinter Justin Gatlin could receive a life ban from athletics after he tested positive for testosterone at a meeting in Kansas last April and his coach Trevor Graham made the claim that Chris Whetstine had put the cream on Gatlin at the Kansas Relays.
However, defending himself Chris Whetstine said: "Trevor Graham is not speaking on behalf of Justin Gatlin and the story about me is not true."
Chris Whetstine, who has been Justin Gatlin's masseur for much of the past three years, also said: "I have fully co-operated with the investigation into this matter."
Trevor Graham said Chris Whetstine had been upset with Justin Gatlin because he thought he was responsible for him getting fired earlier this year and he claimed Whetstine had applied a whitish cream to Gatlin's groin area and the back of his knees after the Kansas Relays.
Athletics legend Michael Johnson claimed Trevor Graham's claims were rubbish and said: "It's a new twist on an old excuse. Graham has no credibility.
"Graham should also be banned for life due to his involvement with an alarming number of athletes who have tested positive while training under him."
