asafa Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell has his eyes set on a first global 100m crown at Friday's Golden League opener in Oslo, Norway.

Although Asafa Powell, 24, is current Commonwealth champion he has yet to win gold at either world or Olympic level.

Asafa Powell said: "I'm confident that I can combine a successful Golden League campaign with gold-winning performances at the World Championships in Osaka."
