Heptathlete Kelly Sotherton starts her 2007 at the Norwich Union International
Heptathlete and Commonwealth gold medallist Kelly Sotherton will start her sporting campaign in 2007 by taking part in the Norwich Union International in Glasgow on 27 January.
Kelly Sotherton is participating at the Kelvin Hall as a guest in the 60m hurdles and high jump.
"This meeting will be really important because I want to get my indoor season off to a strong start," Kelly Sotherton said and she added: "I'm really looking forward to returning to the Kelvin Hall after running a personal best there in 2006."
After participating in Glasgow, Kelly Sotherton will continue her build-up to the European Indoor Championships in March in Birmingham, where she faces Carolina Kluft.
"That event is on my doorstep," Kelly Sotherton added. "I would like to win on home soil and I think I've got five strong events. The gold medal is always the aim - I'd never settle for silver."
Kelly Sotherton lost out on a bronze medal at last year's World Championships after a poor javelin throw; however, she is now getting advice from former world bronze medallist Mick Hill in an attempt to do better in the year ahead.
