Dwain Chambers pulls out of London Grand Prix
Dwain Chambers, the fastest British runner over 100m this year, has withdrawn from Friday's London Grand Prix after he failed to recover from a thigh injury.
Londoner Dwain Chambers, 28, who suffered the injury at the European trials in Manchester a fortnight ago, was due to face joint world-record holder Asafa Powell.
Dwain Chambers was hoping to prove his fitness ahead of the European Championships in Sweden next month; however, he does not want to risk his injury by racing at Crystal Palace.
Dwain Chambers has decided not to race in the 100m finals at the European trials so as to give the injury more time to heal.
In spite of his withdrawal, Dwain Chambers will still be under consideration for the trip to Gothenburg when the final names for the Great Britain side are confirmed following Friday's meeting.
