British sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey cuts ties with Trevor Graham
Promising Great Britain sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey has cut his ties with disgraced coach Trevor Graham.
The US Olympic Committee has banned Trevor Graham because several athletes he has coached, including Justin Gatlin, have tested positive for banned substances.
World youth champion at 100m and 200m, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey had trained with Justin Gatlin and Trevor Graham for 10 days in April.
"It's not an environment we want Harry to be a part of," the 17-year-old's coach Matt Favier told The Times.
"Until the investigations are over there are too many reasons why we shouldn't continue the relationship," Matt Favier added.
After coming back from the North Carolina training camp with Justin Gatlin and Trevor Graham, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey said his performance had got better.
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey was offered the chance of training full-time in America by Trevor Graham but he had turned it down.
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey was the first sprinter in the history of the World Youth Championships to win the 100m-200m double, which he claimed in Morocco last year.
