British athlete Christine Ohuruogu waits for drugs appeal news
British athlete Christine Ohuruogu has to wait until the end of the month to find out if her appeal against a drugs suspension has been successful.
Christine Ohuruogu, 22, had been given a 12-month ban after she missed three out-of-competition tests in an 18 month period.
Christine Ohuruogu made an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) back in October but it has been delayed because new information was produced.
"There will be a delay as we consider this," said Matthieu Reeb, CAS secretary and added:"Parties involved in the arbitration procedure submitted new information to the panel members.
"Now it is expected there will be no announcement of the tribunal's findings - probably not until the end of the month."
Christine Ohuruogu has had her funding and medical support withdrawn because of her ban.
The UK Athletics disciplinary committee have agreed that Christine Ohuruogu made an unintentional error due to forgetfulness, and were well aware that she wasn't deliberately attempting to get around the testing procedures.
