American sprinter Maurice Greene goes for gold again
American sprinter Maurice Greene, who is a former Olympic 100m champion, is going for gold again at the Beijing games in 2008.
Born in Kansas City, and nicknamed The Kansas Cannonball, Maurice Greene, 32, is making a comeback at Friday's Millrose Games after taking a year off to recover from injury.
Speaking about his future plans, Maurice Greene said: "Yes, I will be (in Beijing).
"That will be my last go around. Beijing will be it. I will win my gold medal, and then I can walk away from this sport forever."
At the Games Maurice Greene will be competing against a new and very worthy sprinting opponent by name Asafa Powell who is the world record holder now but Maurice Greene isn't worried and feels he can take on the best of them again and he explained: "I can be even better than I was because I believe in myself.
"My ability's never gone anywhere, my drive is coming back to what it used to be, and that's the most important thing."
