Jeremy Roenick returns to Phoenix Coyotes ice hockey team

jeremyroenickVeteran ice hockey centre Jeremy Roenick has confirmed a one-year deal to return to his former club the Phoenix Coyotes.

Jeremy Roenick, 36, and nine times an NHL All-Star, hit 100 points or more in his five seasons at Phoenix from 1996-2001.

"I have a lot of great memories from my five years and I'm looking forward to having a great season and help lead our team to the play-offs," Jeremy Roenick said.

"JR is an elite player who plays with passion every night," Coyotes Managing Partner and coach Wayne Gretzky commented.

Jeremy Roenick recorded two 50-plus goal seasons and is the only player in NHL history to lead his team in goals, assists, points and penalty minutes in two different seasons.

Wayne Gretzky is convinced that Jeremy Roenick's return to the Phoenix Coyotes will be of mutual benefit.

"He'll be a valuable addition to our team and to the community," Wayne Gretzky said.
