Richard Hamilton helps Detroit Pistons beat Orlando

pistons Basketball player Richard Hamilton scored 31 points that helped the Detroit Pistons defeat Orlando 91-86, and in so doing to claim a 4-1 series victory in the NBA Eastern Conference play-offs.

Detroit Pistons, who are through to a sixth straight Conference final, next play against Cleveland or Boston for a place in the NBA final.

Detroit took 13 points consecutively to be 78-70 ahead, and Antonio McDyess's three free throws in a row put them well in the lead with an 82-72 score.

Detroit Pistons success in claiming six conference finals one after the other matches the record of the Los Angeles Lakers, who did the same in the Western Conference from 1984 to 1989.

Richard Hamilton explained proudly: "It's an awesome feeling but it's one of those things that we feel as though we're supposed to do. That's our confidence. We feel as though we have to make it there and we have to try to get back to the Finals."
