Miami Heat beat Dallas Mavericks at NBA finals and win first national title Miami Heat beat Dallas Mavericks 95-92 in game six of the NBA finals to end their wait for 18 years for a first national title.
Their triumph in front of a shocked Dallas Mavericks crowd gave Miami Heat a 4-2 win in the best-of-seven series.
Miami Heat have become only the third team in NBA finals to return from losing the first two games to go on to clinch the crown.
Guard Dwyane Wade was top scorer with 36 points and was named play-offs MVP after an amazing run of performances in the finals.
"This is a team award," Dwayne Wade said as he was presented with the MVP trophy, "Like, it's a team championship."
And Udonis Haslem added 17 points for the Miami Heat, who won game six despite hitting just two of 18 from beyond the arc.
Dirk Nowitzki paced Dallas with 29 points and 15 rebounds, however, he and his team-mates were easily defeated by a confident Miami Heat.
