Memphis Grizzlies assistant Eric Musselman named as coach of Sacramento Kings
Memphis Grizzlies basketball team assistant Eric Musselman has been named as the new head coach of the Sacremento Kings.
Eric Musselman, 41, spent the last two seasons with Memphis Grizzlies and was the head coach of the Golden State Warriors for two seasons from 2002.
Eric Musselman said: "Sacramento is an outstanding organisation with terrific ownership, talented players and a great staff."
Eric Musselman will replace Rick Adelman whose contract was not renewed after eight seasons with the Sacramento Kings.
Eric Musselman, a graduate of the University of San Diego, had played in two NCAA tournaments and was a three-time college All-Star, as well as being considered one of the best young coaches in basketball.
Eric Musselman has been interviewed for vacancies in Minnesota and Orlando in the fairly recent past.
Sacramento president of basketball operations Geoff Petrie said commenting on Eric Musselman: "We are all extremely impressed with his organisation, knowledge, preparation and commitment to winning."
