Guildford Heat basketball signs Ajou Deng
Guildford Heat basketball team have signed centre Ajou Deng, who is the elder brother of Chicago and Great Britain professional player Luol Deng.
Ajou Deng will be playing as a replacement for Steve Allen, who left the team after a poor showing for Guildford Heat in Tuesday's 40-point home loss to Ankara.
Ajou Deng, 28, is 6ft 11in in height and he already had played for Guilford Heat two seasons past, however, he missed the entire last season of basketball because of injury.
Ajou Deng was away from sport for a large part of last season in Chicago because he was having treatment and rehabilitation for a persistent ankle problem.
Guildford Heat coach Paul James was speaking of Ajou Deng and said: "I know he has benefited greatly from the medical staff at Chicago Bulls."
Ajou Deng has also played for Brighton and the Scottish Rocks in the British Basketball League, and he had averaged 13.6 points and 11.2 rebounds per game with the Guildford Heat in their debut season just two years back.
