Basketball veteran Gary Payton stays with Miami Heat

garypayton Point guard Gary Payton has made the decision to stay playing basketball with Miami Heat, where he finally won his first NBA title last season.

Future Hall of Famer, Gary Payton, 38, spent his first 12 seasons at Seattle, where he holds nearly every team record, however, the nine-time All-Star changed clubs several times after leaving the Sonics, and signed with the Miami Heat last summer.

Gary Payton made key baskets in the closing seconds of games three and five of the finals, both won by Miami Heat on their way to their first NBA crown.

In 1,267 games with Seattle, Milwaukee, Los Angeles, Boston and Miami, Gary Payton has averaged 16.9 points, 6.9 assists and 1.90 steals.

Gary Payton is also known as "The Glove" for his skills in defending and he is a nine-time All-Defensive Team selection as well as being the 1996 Defensive Player of the Year.
