St Louis baseball star Chris Carpenter helps his side win
St Louis pitcher Chris Carpenter made a very impressive performance to lead his team to a 5-0 win over Detroit in game three of the World Series.
Chris Carpenter, 31, restricted the Detroit Tigers to just three hits in eight innings to give the St Louis Cardinals a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Detroit Tigers weren't playing well with two St Louis Cardinals runs being made because of an error and another from a wild pitch.
The World Series is continuing with match four in St Louis on Wednesday and Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland admitted that he may be making changes to his team in light of this poor showing.
"I'm not sure who is going to play tomorrow," he said. "I don't know what the line-up is going to look like. I'm going to sleep on it.
"Things kind of fell apart. When you get two or three hits in a game, you always look bad.
"If we don't swing the bats better they will go up 3-1, but I think we will swing the bats better. We're not conceding anything," Jim Leyland added.
