Ex-New York Yankees boss Joe Torre to manage LA Dodgers
The former boss of New York Yankees baseball team, Joe Torre has been chosen to manage the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Joe Torre, 67, left the New York Yankees a fortnight ago after they went out of the play-offs in the first round for the third season in a row, and although he was offered a new one-year contract to stay as manager he decided against it.
Joe Torre, who was victorious in four World Series in New York, takes over from Grady Little at the Los Angeles Dodgers for three years.
Joe Torre said: "I consider it an honour to be a part of this organisation which is one of the most storied franchises in all of sports."
In his past career, Joe Torre also managed the New York Mets, Atlanta Braves and St Louis Cardinals, although with little to show for it in terms of success but this was to change with the New York Yankees in the late 1990s.
