Baseball star Barry Bonds equals Hank Aaron's record
San Francisco Giants baseball star Barry Bonds has finally equalled Hank Aaron's all-time record of 755 home runs, which has stood since 1974 as the American home run record.
Barry Bonds, 43, hit the 382-foot homer off San Diego Padres pitcher Clay Hensley in the second inning at San Diego's Petco Park, and he was enthusiastically applauded as he circled the bases and greeted by his teammates.
However, Barry Bond's incredible achievement has been overshadowed by allegations of his use of drugs, although he has never tested positive for drug use, and he denies having ever knowingly used banned substances.
The rumours have continued since his home run tally took off and he moved past the legendary Babe Ruth into second place in May last year with his 715th career home run.
Some of the crowd still booed as Barry Bonds took his position in left-field for the bottom half of the second inning, but most fans gave him a standing ovation for his amazing achievement.
