Baseball brawl leads to MLB suspensions for Texas Rangers and LA Angels
Following a mass brawl the MLB have suspended Texas manager Buck Showalter, his LA Angels counterpart Mike Scioscia and six others.
Buck Showalter was banned for four games and Mike Scioscia for three after trouble flared up between the Rangers and Angels.
After a bad-tempered baseball contest on Tuesday the two teams continued to harbour bad feelings on Wednesday and it all ended in a fight in the ninth inning.
All the suspended baseball players have been given fines and so did LA Angels pitcher John Lackey and outfielder Juan Rivera.
Texas Rangers reliever Scott Feldman was suspended for six games for hitting Adam Kennedy with a pitch that caused the brawl.
Adam Kennedy charged the mound after he was hit and received a four-game suspension for this.
LA Angels pitchers Kevin Gregg and Brandon Donnelly both received four-game suspensions and Texas pitcher Vicente Padilla got five games for throwing at a batter after they received a warning on Tuesday.
